Optical illusions

An optical illusion is something that tricks your eye. This is a piece of art created by me, Rumi Nanwani, and inspired by Bridget Riley, a British artist who excelled in optical illusions. She was born in 1931 and is now 88 years old. In an optical illusion, your eyes are deceived into seeing something that is not actually there. This is because your brain takes shortcuts. When you focus on one thing, your brain will only look at that. It will not care about any other parts. Because of this, some of you may see shapes similar to fingers or tree branches popping out from paper, even though it is just a row of shaded lines. It is fun to make, although it takes time and patience. Then again, during these #stayhomedays, I have plenty of both!
