However, in recent years, the sport has been experiencing a remarkable surge in popularity within the city. With an increasing number of enthusiasts taking up the sport and a growing presence in international competitions, tennis in Hong Kong is undergoing a transformative journey.

International players visited us to attend The Hong Kong Open, where Fernandez secured the women’s singles. Moreover, lots of Tennis organizations are looking to ‘host more tournaments and be more competitive with the outside world’ according to Kai Thompson, a junior player previously ranked top 5 in HK U14.

To support the burgeoning interest in tennis, Hong Kong has invested in the development of world-class tennis facilities. State-of-the-art courts, equipped with the latest technology, have sprung up across the city, catering to both professional players and recreational enthusiasts. Although the quantitative support from the government could be enhanced, there are numerous clubs (USRC, Jordan) and centres with multiple tennis facilities.
