ghost in the attic
By Amirah Datwani
there’s a ghost in the attic
it’s eating at my skin
there’s a ghost in the attic
i won’t give in
to the haunting chill of the wind
i’m caught in a panic
creatures intergalactic
and in the corner of my eye, there’s a white glint
in my throat builds up acid
anxious barrels filled to the brim
with evil laughing
write notes crisp
the darkness expanding
and on blood, i slip
there’s a ghost in the attic
