Making our toilets great again
Written By Liam Gordon and Kendo Longid
Many people believe our school toilets have grown worse and worse with every passing year. They have rusty exposed pipes, broken doors, busted flushing systems, old broken hand dryers, and the centrepiece: the rusty, stained, disgusting toilets.
That’s a bit much don’t you think? Imagine if you were a new student coming into this school and you needed to go to the lavatory and you saw this. What would you think? The toilets would seem out-of-place in such an advanced school. Milo O’Neill, the leader of Flush Factory, said, “They’re falling apart, they’re unhygienic, and they’re straight-up disgusting.”
Hold up! What is the Flush Factory? Well, Flush Factory is a group working to fix this problem. They are a REAL project headed by Year 7 RCHK students. “We are nearly ready to present our project to our beloved school, but, as the Titanic showed us, anything can fall apart,” said Oskar Boekhoerst, a member of the Flush Factory.
“The RCHK toilets fill me with disgust, and as a teacher at this school I want to be proud of my school, but it is hard to be proud of the state of our toilets,” said Mr Knight, who is the teacher leading the project.
The toilets are absolutely disgusting and Flush Factory aims to change that. As Vani Tanna, leader of the Flush Factory’s communications department, said, “We will make toilets great again!”
